MSP Media is owned and operated by Meg Phillips, an award winning developer of WordPress based projects. Most recently, her project School List It, a ReactJS – WordPress – Watson platform for education took the fourth prize in the 2020 Global Call for Code out of thousands of entries.
In 2019, MSP-Media.org re-launched the Island Free Press, a WordPress newspaper and won multiple-awards from the North Carolina Press Association. She wrote Charter Boat Bookings in 2019/20 and continues to refine and maintain the charter boat bookings solution.
In 2021, Meg began developing Community Sailing – a platform to support community sailing programs like Hatteras Sailing and continues to evolve and maintain that platform. Currently, Charter Boat Bookings and Community Sailing are the primary projects developed by MSP-Media.
Our Founder
Capt. Meg Phillips (USCG OUPV) has been on the water her whole life. Growing up as a powerboater diving and fishing the Florida Keys from her family home on Big Pine Key, Meg married a sailor in March of 2008 and has been sailing since.
She is the mother of three beautiful children and the owner of SV Legacy. Meg graduated with an engineering degree from Auburn University in 1998, worked as a post baccalaureate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory before attending graduate school at Case Western University in Cleveland, OH. She enjoyed a 10+ year career in the apparel industry working in product development before taking on the role of Marketing Officer for her husband’s sailing industry companies including 360 Yachting, Stiletto Manufacturing, and Phillips Boatworks.
Currently, Meg is the Program Director for Hatteras Community Sailing, a staff captain with Phillipsboatworks, and she continues to write interesting software solutions on a contract basis when she is not out sailing.
